Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
I am actually quite impressed by these appointments. Gives us a strong experienced backroom team. Can't however see that they would have joined for just 6 months, so we might have team Moyes here for longer than just this season. In "The Nowhere Men" (an excellent read for footy fans) the author, Michael Calvin, goes into detail about Everton's scouting methods under Moyes. It was really organised, with players identified for every position and alternatives should they be needed. Henry worked that system. If we can put that in place for the future and organize the first team we might just welcome these appointments.

We can mock this incoming coaching team all we like but at least it looks like we’re moving to some management from a situation of no management.

How many number 2's and 3's have been successful managers? I've actually found some of this stuff about MOYSIE quite amusing, but let's not get silly..

So....... It's the Dream Team of failed managers who are gonna go all British Army Regimental Boot camp on a load of lazy cunts who have no self pride between the lot of them... Oh yeah they'll be in teh stockade when RSM Moyes and co get in their face... Ha ha ha... I'm afraid that old days style of management does not seem to have a place in modern day Footballers agendas

Pearce is a step up on Dicksie but just what will he bring to the set up? Strictly coaching drills devised by Moyes ? That would be fine but hardly a role where he would be hugely influential and lets hope its not for the most overused and empty phrase in football "he brings passion" . Times you hear fans talk about the need for that. Sure its good to care but I would rather he brought tactical insight and game understanding to suggest improvements to an individual's role or the team's tactics. I have not seen too much evidence of that or heard a great deal of it when he is a pundit. But lets give him a chance.

Just hope he wasnt a Sullivan suggestion for another "fans favourite"

I don't think any of them will put up with any bullshit from the players who seriously let Bilic down

I've changed my mind, in all honesty, I think team Moyes might do a decent job between them

IF anything is to happen in the transfer market I can't see Moyes & Henry letting Sullivan get away with any nonsense in the way he did with Bilic either

I would call any of them failures. Just average. Its where the Daves want us. Average.

Are we employing a Scots - English translator ?

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Did not want Moyes and still don't, but to be fair to the bloke, if he is to fail he needs to do so with him calling all shots

So if he wants to compose the backroom team, he should

No excuses

And finally, we don't know the brief of any of these blokes, so to comment is flying blind, we will see the result sooner or later on the pitch

Kite - To be honest despite what I posted earlier today's modern day footballers who are all multi-millionaires and have have every whim catered for, you may well be right. Maybe they will just see him as out of date fossil whose bark is bigger than his bite. Footballers today probably mirror society in general with young people, ie they don't give a fuck about authority or respect their elders.

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Not sure how true it was but during Stuart Pearce time as manager at Man City I always remember reading that the players used to take the piss out of him and were certainly not scared of him.
Hope it's isn’t true as it sounds like a few of ours can do with a clump.

We're going to have more Assistant Managers than players at this rate.

Strong appointment is Pearce. He may not have made it as a No.1 but he ticks all the other boxes. Do you think anyone will be late if Pearce is waiting for them? No, me neither.

Arnautovich comes across as a bit of a bully big bollocks. I think he'll meet his match in Pearce. I'll never forget him breaking his leg then trying to 'run it off'.

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Certainly in the short term, I'm very happy with all this, considering the shitty situation we're in. Putting my neck out a little, I feel confident we won't go down.

Time will tell if this set up is worth more than just 6 months.

I wonder, have all these coaches agreed to a 6 month contract? It can't be. I think Moyes will have to have an absolute disaster not to get a longer deal out of this.
